Their destination wedding at the Athabasca Day Use Area was a perfect fit for Caitlin and Jordan. The beauty of this location can be seen in its intimate, scenic surroundings. It is both majestic yet manageable with small or large ceremonies alike! We locals all call it The Airfield. The beauty of this location is that it can be booked through Parks Canada. It offers a private and scenic location that is both intimate and majestic at the same time. It is one of our favorite ceremony locations in Jasper.

We reached out to Peggy and Dave for our small intimate wedding, and couldn’t be happier with that decision. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. Suggested wonderful spots to have our ceremony. They have a wonderful energy about them and you can’t help but get excited when they do. We loved working with them!

The first look always sets the tone!

The Jasper Inn provided the perfect little nooks and crannies outside for Caitin and Jordan’s first look. We were easily able to get Jordan hidden and then bring Caitlin in for their first look. The first look was the first time that we had met Caitlin and Jordan. It was kind of our first look too! We chatted a bit and got to know each other and then we were off to their ceremony at The Athabasca Day Use Area!

The groomsmen missed the turn off, so the ceremony was 30 minutes late.

Since Jordan’s father was the officiant, there was no problem with the ceremony being a bit late and for us, it was a gift. Candid moments are the cornerstone of a wedding photographer’s approach to the wedding day, so this was an opportunity to get down to business. We were able to capture candid moments of the guests as they waited for the groomsmen. We love having this opportunity because it gives us a great chance to do what we love most – taking pictures but also to watch everyone interact and express themselves freely with one another before getting married!

Finally it was time to go, except the flower girl was not interested!

Caitlin and Jordan’s adorable daughter had no intention of walking up the aisle and had a different route in mind. What an adorable little girl! She had no intention of walking up the aisle, but she ended up making everyone laugh and the processional proceeded regardless. Once again, for a wedding photographer, this is gold! Capturing these moments will definitely go down in your family’s stories of the wedding for years to come.

After the ceremony Mother Nature made an appearance.

The Athabasca Day Use Area is a lovely location for family and wedding photos. On this day, we had a few wind gusts that actually blew the veil out of Caitlin’s hair. We kept soldiering on and captured some truly memorable photos for this lovely couple and embraced the wind and made it work to our advantage. Having lived and photographed weddings for over 25 years in Jasper has taught us to just keep our cameras up to our eyes and to capture all of the action regardless of the weather conditions. We hope that you enjoy the following sample of photos that we documented on this beautiful July day in the summer of 2021.
