Sean wanted to make it a surpise!
Sean contacted us in early June of 2021 and wanted us to capture a sunset Jasper Park Lodge proposal to the love of his life, Pamela. He had contacted Jasper Park Lodge to reserve sundeck 1 so that he could have supper at Orso and then walk down to the sundeck, propose and then further surprise Pamela with champagne delivered by room service to the deck.

Well, that was the plan anyway…
We arrived at JPL 30 minutes prior to when Sean was planning on proposing and the usually quiet lawn and lake were packed with people. They were swimming and playing and just generally enjoying the unusually warm evening. The problem was that sundeck 1 was being used by other guests and we were not sure if we could say something to them or not as we were not sure if the deck had indeed been reserved. I sent Sean a quick text to tell him that we were in place and he said that they were really running behind with dinner and that he was going to be about 30 minutes late. That set us into panic mode as we were losing light fast and knew that what little sunset we were going to get was happening very soon.
Sean rushed the meal and hurried down the the sundeck

Sean managed to wrap up their meal quickly, got the desert to go, and miraculously sundeck 1 was vacant when they arrived. They walked on the deck and we sprang to action. Pamela had no idea that we were even there, so when Sean proposed she teared up and say yes, of course! We took few photos on the property of Jasper Park Lodge that evening and then made a plan to meet the next morning for some more relaxed photos at Pyramid Island. We left them to enjoy the beautiful evening, the champagne as well as their newfound status as an engaged couple. What a great way to end the day! We just love being part of love stories such as these whether it be a Jasper Park Lodge proposal or a proposal somewhere more remote. Ready for the next step?!
We hope that you enjoy the highlights of this JPL proposal!
