Team photography Jasper!

There are many considerations when choosing the photographers to cover your once in a lifetime event. One of the first decisions that you have to make is whether or not to hire a single photographer or a photography team. We have worked as a team of photographers for over 25 years and we can’t imagine covering an event as individual photographers. We focus on your wedding and portrait sittings through the eyes of two individuals. Further to that, we offer the perspective of both a male and a female. We can literally be in two places at the same time. Our approach can be summed up like a meal- one of us is the meat and potatoes and one is the spice.

I am already uncomfortable in front of the camera and you want me to hire two photographers?!

Firstly- no one is ever truly comfortable in front of the camera and it is ok to feel awkward. Having two photographers to document your wedding or portrait can really help you relax. We often get a banter going to help our couples relax and the more time that they spend with us the more relaxed they become. The first photos of the session and the last are always so obvious. Often one photographer does the set-up portion of the session which allows the other photographer to capture the candid moments. It truly does take “two to tango” to create this atmosphere.

Photographic team or photographer and assistant?

Working as a photography team allows a certain connection to occur and flow to emerge. After 25 years of working together, we have created a dynamic where we can truly anticipate each other’s thoughts. This helps you relax and creates a comfortable environment for everyone. Working as a team of photographers rather than a photographer and an assistant allows consistency and trust.
